1. Can you tell us what a day in the life of Loretta at Greenfield Learning is like?

A day in the life at Greenfield Learning can consist of meeting with site administrators to customize Professional Development, delivering Professional Development for Core5 and PowerUp and supporting peers as a moderator. Also, attending team meetings, corresponding with site administrators, meeting with peers and documenting in Salesforce. [Salesforce is Greenfield’s customer relationship management platform.]

2. What are three things most of the Greenfield team won't know about you?

The Greenfield Learning team does not know that my husband and I own a Harley Limited Edition Street Glide motorcycle that we use to take long and short rides in California and other states. Since the pandemic, we have chosen to not take any rides due to the risk of being around large crowds. Team members also do not know that I have a strong, close knit immediate and extended family who gather often to celebrate birthdays and holidays. A year ago, I decided to pursue my desire to learn how to play the piano so I am pushing myself to meet this challenge. I take lessons each week and plan to continue until I am satisfied with my playing ability.

3. What is your ‘passion project’ at Greenfield?

My passion project is to work with the Central Valley team to support Shawn and Lisa when I am needed to step in.

4. What have you learned about yourself as you've maneuvered the challenges of work and life in a pandemic?

I have learned that it is important to find those moments each day to celebrate all the positives that are happening around you. If this remains your focus then life and work are enjoyable and manageable.

5. Can you tell us about a fun new activity or hobby you tried out after everything went 'fully-remote' in the spring?

My husband and I decided to start riding our bicycles that had been sitting in the garage for a while. I love the outdoors and when you are working all day inside, I think it is important to go outside to enjoy all that is beautiful around you. Sometimes our lunch break will include a quick bicycle ride.

6. What is the most encouraging thing you've heard from an educator in the last 6 months?

An educator that I consider a mentor always asks: "How many wins have you had today?" This is a motto I try to keep at the forefront of all that I do in my professional and personal life.
